Bitesize offers a great opportunity for your development and has a great impact on our partner meetings for the 2017 summer program. By putting NCS Grads at the forefront of what we do, we are able to provide a realistic experience of the set up process.

You will gain skills in professionalism, verbal and written communication, office experience and negotiation skills.

The Process

  1. Register for this opportunity (deadline – Monday 14th Nov 16)
  2. Attend an interview (Saturday 17th Dec 16)
  3. Attend training & meeting (one day between 13th – 17th February Half Term)

This opportunity allows you to:

  • Work with our Programs team to bring on board new partners and meet existing ones;
  • Help make decisions about what to share at partner meetings;
  • Come to our office and work with the program’s team for the day;
  • Attend at least one partner meeting during February half term;

Represent NCS as an NCS Ambassador!

NCS Ambassadors are Grads who work with our NCS Engagement team and Central Marketing team to promote NCS to young people. They can do this via their school, onsocial media, from our offices and any other channels at their disposal.

This opportunity allows you to:

  • Work with our Marketing team to make sure we are promoting NCS the way young people will want to hear about it;
  • Help make decisions about our marketing and brand assets, what we should change and keep;
  • Come to our office and take over our social media for the day;
  • Attend events in local schools with the NCS Engagement Team to promote NCS*;
  • Talk to young people and their parents about your NCS experience and encourage them to sign up;
  • Promote NCS by word of mouth, social media through channels available toyou E.G. your school, college or social media presence!

* To be an official NCS Ambassador in schools and colleges you will need to attend a training session in October half term.

What will you gain from this role?

  • Build your experience of marketing, sales and promotion to add to your CV or UCAS form;
  • Gain evidence of volunteering for college, university or job interviews;
  • Improve your public speaking and communication skills and build your confidence;
  • Help others to benefit from taking part in NCS;

Be part of our Staff Scouters team! 

Staff Scouters are NCS graduates who assist the NCS Staffing team in attracting, recruiting and assessing seasonal staff. You’ll receive specialist training to ensure you are prepared to help recruit potential staff and observe activities during our staff assessments. You will also provide feedback on candidates to help Staff Assessors make the final decisions.

This opportunity allows you to:

  • Work with our staffing team to promote NCS to potential staff at universities and careers fairs;
  • Share your NCS experience with potential NCS staff members;
  • Work from our offices and see a professional environment at work;
  • Help recruit our seasonal staff. Attend assessments and have your say on their performance and whether or not they are right for the role!

What will you gain from this role?

  • Gain understanding of professional recruitment, how interviews and assessments operate, and learn how to impress as a candidate;
  • Improve your analytical and decision-making skills to boost your CV;
  • Improve your public speaking and communication skills
